PopularThe Essential Bhutan Journey
Two nights each in Paro, Thimphu and Punakha.
From $1,620 per adult

There are no flights from Kuala Lumpur to Paro, so most Malaysian travellers connect through Bangkok or Singapore, where Drukair and Bhutan Airlines fly to Paro. Check the Paro leg first, because it runs on fewer days than the flight from Kuala Lumpur, then build the trip around it.
The Kuala Lumpur leg is short and has plenty of daily options; the Paro leg is the one to book first. Drukair and Bhutan Airlines fly to Paro from Bangkok, and Drukair from Singapore, on set days of the week. Leave a comfortable gap between the two flights, or stay a night in Bangkok or Singapore, because Paro flights can be delayed by mountain weather and they are usually on a separate ticket.
$40 USD (one-time, non-refundable)
Malaysian passport holders need an approved tourist visa before travel. We apply for it online as part of your booking, and you get the visa stamped on arrival at Paro.
Full visa requirements$100 USD per adult per night through Aug 31, 2027 (concession rate)
Currently $100 USD per adult per night (concession rate through Aug 31, 2027), included in our standard package total. A 7-day, 6-night trip pays $600 SDF per adult. Children 6–11 pay $50/night; under-6s are waived.
SDF explained in fullMarch–May or September–November, for clear mountain views and the big festivals. Malaysian school holidays and the festive seasons fill the Bangkok and Singapore flights to Paro quickly, so book those weeks early.
5–8 days. The short connection makes a 5-day trip workable, and the 7-day Essential Bhutan Journey fits a week of leave.
