Getting to Bhutan from Australia

Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways offer the most comfortable transit. Druk Air operates a few flights per week from Singapore and Bangkok to Paro. Many Australian travellers add a 2–3 day stopover in Bangkok or Singapore both ways, it breaks the journey and the layover hotels are inexpensive compared to Australia.

Best time to visit from Australia

April–May or September–November. Avoid the Australian summer holiday window (mid-Dec to late-Jan), flight prices spike and Bhutan's January is genuinely cold. October is the most popular month for Australian visitors.
