The dates are tentative until Bhutan's official festival calendar is confirmed, because tshechus follow the lunar calendar and the final schedule is set by the monastic authorities. Use this as a provisional planning window and confirm the official dates before making non-refundable bookings.

The usual one: Paro's hotels. Paro has a limited number of rooms and Tshechu week is the most in-demand week of the spring. Ask about the rooms you want before committing to the rest of the trip. For a March 2027 trip, the comfortable booking window is roughly August to November 2026.
The 2027-specific one: the SDF window. Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee is currently discounted to $100 per adult per night, and that concession is confirmed only through August 31, 2027. Paro Tshechu 2027 falls inside the window; if the concession lapses afterwards, autumn 2027 trips could cost $100 more per person per night in government fees. What the festival is
Five days of sacred masked dances at Paro Dzong, ending with the dawn unfurling of the Thongdrel, a silk thangka the size of the building, displayed for a few hours once a year. It's Bhutan's most famous festival and the anchor event of the spring season. Late March weather in Paro cooperates: typically 10-20 °C, clear skies, and the first rhododendron blooms, which is also ideal for combining the festival with the Tiger's Nest hike.
